Course Overview
Are you interested in becoming a Barber and already have the skills in all things Hairdressing? Have you been cutting hair as a Hairdresser of Barber for quite some time but haven’t got any certificates or qualifications that recognises your skills? If this sounds like you then this is the course for you.
Designed for hairdressers or barbers who have experience in the industry and are wanting to gain the fundamental skills and be qualified in 7 specific units from the Certificate III in Barbering related to men’s barbering.
The course is delivered in a blended delivery model and is seperated into 2 parts
Part 1 – Flexible Self-paced Online Learning (Off-campus)
Learn the theory each week through our online learner portal and complete the theory assessments in your own time. This allows flexibility and can work around your schedule.
Part 2 – Scheduled Practical Workshops (On-campus)
Get the hands on practical experience each week on-campus where you will receive live demonstrations of each component of the course and complete your practical assessments.

Pre-requisites
You must hold competency in SHBCUT001 – Design haircut structures as this unit is required before being assessed in cutting hair using freehand techniques. This unit is delivered under the SHB30416 – Certificate III in Hairdressing and is a core skill required skill for hairdressers. If you do not have a certificate showing competency in this unit but have the required skills and knowledge, we can assess you through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). You currently work as a Hairdresser or Barbering or have previously worked in these professions.

Credit Transfer
Avante Education has a policy to acknowledge formal Statements of Attainments issued by another RTO.
Where learners have made an application for Credit Transfer on any of the equivalent units in this qualification, credit will be granted, and the learner will not be required to repeat the training in those units where application has been made and credit has been granted.
Recognition of Prior Learning
The competencies in this qualification may be attained through the process of Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL takes into consideration the candidates’ previous training, work and life experience.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) opportunities will be provided on request. If requested, you will be provided with an RPL Candidate guide to assist the learner in identifying any Recognition of Prior Learning either through previous training, work, or life experience or to how to prepare a portfolio of evidence.

- Full payment required upon enrollment which includes $480 enrolment fee
- Enrolment fee is non-refundable
- Final payment need to be made 72 hours before scheduled date
- If cancellation has been made 7 days prior to course date, a full tuition fee refund will be made to you
- If cancellation is made within 7 days you will receive 50% of the tuition fee paid
- If cancellation is made 72 hours or less to the course start date, a 0% refund of the tuition fee paid

- 1 – Accessing the learner resources can either be digital (online access via a personal computer or mobile device) or hardcopy (printed learner resources). Printed learner resources are an extra $420 on top of the current enrolment fee
- 2 – Must must have your own kit or purchase one from us before commencement of your workshop sessions. The kit includes all tools necessary to complete all practical assessments
Payment Options
$1,980 is paid on enrolment. The remaining $450 will be paid when you book in the workshop component of this course.
We have a payment plan option with Afterpay or full payment via credit card or invoice when paying for each installment.
